Check Cashing A record of every check you cash, with the ID attached.
Scans the customer's ID at the counter and keeps the check record with it, so you can find any customer's history in seconds.
Who it is for
Stores that cash checks and want the paperwork to survive an audit.
What you need
A Windows PC at the counter and an ID/barcode scanner on a COM port.
What it does
- Customer records, check history and ID images, all stored on your PC.
- Nothing about a customer, an ID or a check ever reaches this website — the only thing the counter PC sends up is that it is licensed.
- It is a recordkeeping aid. It does not approve checks, and it does not process payments.
What it costs
One per PC that runs the app. Two PCs is two store PCs. One subscription for the store, one renewal date; add more later and a card is charged only the difference for the rest of the period (PayPal applies the change from the next billing date). Cancel any time from your billing page — see the refund policy.
How setup goes
- Copy the app folder to the counter PC and run it.
- Set the scanner's COM port in its settings file.
- Enter the 6-character code it shows, with your store key, at /pair.
Codes and pairing are explained on the how it works page. The pair page is where the 6-character code goes.
What it never does
- It never sends a customer's name, ID, photo or check to this website.
- It never tells you whether to cash a check — that decision, the fees and the reports the law requires are yours.
- It never processes a payment or moves money.
The privacy page lists exactly what the website holds and what never reaches it.
Questions
Which scanners work?
An ID/barcode scanner that shows up as a COM (serial) port on the PC. Set the port once in the settings file.
Is my customers' information in the cloud?
No. Every record and image stays on the counter PC. This website only knows that the PC is licensed.
Does it check the customer against a database?
No. It keeps your own records so you can see a customer's history with you. It is not a fraud or credit check.
